Would give an 11/10 if I could. Ryan is the best in the business and truly cares about his patients. He’s excellent at diagnosing symptoms and proving solutions that will actually work. Could not reccomend this practice more
Andrew Rowe
Dr. Ryan is the absolute best physical therapist on the planet (I may be subject to a little hyperbole here, but I have my reasons)! I am a 67 year old powerlifter who came to the sport significantly later in life. When I started working with Dr Ryan, I had knee pain during my squat attempts (and a great deal of fear) and shoulder pain during my bench. Dr. Ryan quickly got to the root of the problem and setup an exercise plan to help. He also worked with my trainer Erin Elise of SNS Barbell for a seamless program. And in just 10 weeks it all worked. I can squat to depth with no knee pain and bench pain free. But, the real measure of success is that I just competed in a full power meet where I posted my best numbers ever on squat, bench and deadlift. I also won my division. Now that is progress. Dr. Ryan is funny, positive, kind and thoughtful. He has the determination to diagnose the problem and the subject matter expertise to create an effective plan. Thank you Dr. Ryan for everything.

Working with Ryan has been a game changer for me. I have dealt with a fussy shoulder for almost 10 years. Most recently, for over 3 months it had be aggrevated. Affecting sleep and daily activities. After 2 sessions with Ryan, I was sleeping and almost pain free. Not only has Ryan taught me proper exercises, he was able to teach me the anatomy behind the cause. You will not be disappointed at Ascension Rehab!

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from people near South Park considering PT at Ascension Rehab.

Do I need a referral to start physical therapy in North Carolina?

No. North Carolina law allows direct access to physical therapy, so you can schedule your first visit without a doctor's referral. If your insurance plan needs a referral for out-of-network reimbursement, we'll help you coordinate that after your assessment.

How long are sessions, and how often will I need to come in?

Sessions are individualized based on your needs and goals. Most people start with one or two visits per week, then scale back as they progress. We design your schedule around your training and real life, not arbitrary timelines.

Do I have to stop training while working with you?

Not usually. We believe smart training supports recovery for most injuries. We'll help you adjust loads or movements as needed, but our goal is to keep you active and building capacity while you heal.

What makes this different from other PT clinics near South Park?

We prioritize long-term durability over quick fixes. Our plans combine hands-on care, progressive strength work, and recovery strategies that help you stay strong and active for years, not just until the pain goes away.

What should I wear to my evaluation?

Dress like you're going to the gym. Athletic shorts or leggings and a shirt work best. Runners should bring their current shoes, and anyone working on lifting issues should be ready to demonstrate key movements so we can assess mechanics.
